Lone Fir Bar & Grill: Kelso’s Cozy Spot for Outstanding Burgers & Craft Brews

Take a detour from I-5 and grab a burger here. I walked into a low lit, low ceiling space, and a nice lady waved behind the bar. I ordered at the bar, a fir burger and the draft cider. I grabbed my cider and walked out to a beautiful back garden, and the locals greeted me kindly. A large fire pit was burning some freshly cut wood in the middle of the garden while everyone seated around it talked to everyone else. I sat in a corner -still people passing by were saying hello- and waited for my food. I was checking the plants and decorations when I finally noticed the classic rock music playing from the speakers. A nice plain basket appeared with my burger and onion rings with tartar I chose as a side. The onion rings were the real deal, super crispy, and sweet inside. Everything about the burger was really good: the bun, patty, bacon, ... I chugged everything down and was very happy and full. If I manage to return to this place, I will try the Old Growth burger for sure.

Bar atmosphere, but went in for the outstanding burger. Had a mushroom with grilled onions, a swiss cheese burger basket with tater tots, and fry sauce. OUTSTANDING burger!

Been down to the fir dozens of times and can always count on Robin to make us a tasty meal and Lauri to pour us a cider or beer in a frosty glass! Love that they have a couple different IPAs on tap at a time that they rotate through. Get the double bacon cheeseburger, everything on it with a side of crinkle fries! Best burger in town- never disappoints

A wonderful meal and great service. It’s a great stop when you’re going in our out of the wilderness to get some great food. The burgers are yummy and the blackberry lemonade was refreshing.

Dark dive bar with great food and awesome service. Very friendly atmosphere with a lot of old time memorabilia hanging on the walls. Super nice bartender/server. Excellent cook, We have never had a bad meal. It takes a little time to get your order but well worth the wait.

Loved the waitress, she was a doll.... Extra authenticity with this place. Great atmosphere for sure... and would have loved to explore the menu. Can’t wait to next time!!! Definitely recommend taking the extra mile to check this out. Guarantee you will come back for more. Thanks for putting me in the corner ;)

Would happily give this place 11/10 for service! What a find! We stopped here mid-trip from Portland to Astoria, and it turned out to be such a great little place. The food was excellent, but what really stood out were the two ladies running the bar and kitchen, they were absolutely amazing. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off, they are well loved by everyone! We had a couple of burgers cooked to perfection, and the fries were delicious. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!
